Broadcast Use Case Examples

Shift Reporting

A shift report, sometimes called a shift summary, is a document usually generated by managers and supervisors to highlight and communicate what occurred during the current shift to the next shift.

The shift report acts of a convenient means to pass along information to the next supervisor of ongoing issues and changes that may impact the next shift.

These issues may include

  • Active On-air Issues
  • Safety Issues
  • Equipment defects
  • In-progress projects

The importance of Digital Shift Reports

Shift reporting allows for continuity of operations. The next supervisor gets a heads up on items from the prior shift and is able to plan and adjust for them.

For this process to work correctly, the shift report has to be accurate and timely. Paper reports just won’t work. Shift reporting has to be digitized and easy to complete.
